If
you wear glasses, try to keep the amount of jewelry around your
face to a minimum. Flashy earrings, necklaces, pins and glasses
have a tendency to make your face look overdone.
Necklaces
and pins should not be worn at the same time. Together, they can
complicate the outfit.
Watches
and wedding bands are standard and should not be considered extra
jewelry. Don't worry about being overdone if you add jewelry to
these basics.
Diamonds
and other ornate pieces of jewelry should not be worn during the
day time, except for an engagement or wedding ring. Cocktail jewelry
should only be worn after 5:00 p.m.
When
you choose the jewelry to wear with a dress, consider enhancing
the outfit and not showing off your expensive jewels.
Jewelry
is often sold in a matched set, i.e., earrings, necklace, and bracelet.
This does not necessarily mean you have to wear them all at once.
Try breaking them up and wearing different pieces with different
outfits. Too much of one thing can be overpowering.
